Exploring Rainbows

"May the Rainbow Always Touch Your Shoulder"

Cherokee Blessing

May the warm winds of Heaven blow softly upon your home;

May the Great Spirit bless all who enter there.

May your moccasins make happy tracks in many snows, and

May the rainbow always touch your shoulder.

My Exploring Rainbows class begins this week and the research and creation of the presentations have been  more time consuming and demanding than I expected. I could make it simple, but working in layers seems to be my style. And the more I learn, the more I want to share.  I'm loving this,  but there are some emotional perspectives i hadn't expected.

Following my class sessions, i'll share more information. Some of my students follow my website so I don't want to share too much before classes. There are six one and a quarter hour sessions over a six week period,  beginning with an overview.. The first session includes what I'll be sharing about each color - chakras, use in advertising, physical effects, symbolism, positive and negative associations, global perspectives, brands, phrases, sport associations, fairy tales and characters, songs, movies and more. The first session will also include specific legends, movies, songs and symbolism about the rainbow.

I've been very dedicated to the research, listening to and watching numerous versions of Little Red Riding Hood by Same the Sham and the Pharaohs, for example, to find the most appropriate version. That is true dedication.  Some of the information is light and fun. Other associations have been disturbing and bittersweet.

Until then, here is a very brief look at the symbolism of color.
