This sections features a small sampling of my artwork- including painted stones, collage, paintings, abstracts, journal illustrations, as well as photography. There is more featured through out the site on my blog and other pages, so you'll have to look for it. This site, like all of life, is about searching for the hidden treasures all around us! Happy hunting!
A stone mason friend had some stones that had been cut with flat surfaces and my first thought was to paint them. Every stone differs - some are smooth, others pitted and irregular. I have such a reverence for stones - many being thousands of years old.
Subjects for the stones were inspired by insects, birds and animals native to the Yellow Breeches creek in central PA. My first subject, and still my favorite, is the pumpkin seed sunfish.
Once painted, they are treated so that they can be displayed outdoors as well as in.
Our trip to New York City was fabulous. The city is always alive and bustling, but the holiday season is even more vibrant! Anthropologie stole the show with their outlandishly creative window displays!!!
