Today's treasure is a memory from my oldest daughterThis morning Mycala told me that last night she was telling a friend about the my "magic hat". I had a big clunky ivory knit hat when the girls were little - kind of like a fisherman knit and I could roll it up to make a big cuff when I wore it. When I stretched it out, it was amazing how much it could hold. Well, I told the girls it was magic. So when we got new things - books, toys, art supplies - I didn’t just hand them to them. I’d call them into their rooms and we’d sit on the bed and I’d say, “I have a feeling there’s something in the magic hat!” And we’d check and it was empty. But while we talked, I’d slip things in from under the pillow! And all of a sudden I’d check the hat again and!!!!! Why, there WAS something in the magic hat!!!! So I wrote back to her and said I had them fooled for a long time and here’s what she wrote - Mom, I am still convinced that hat was magic. You didn’t fool anybody – it really was! I need to replace my long forgotten - I thought! - magic hat!
