The hunger to create It's a Weed was seeing the damage done by labeling people and then deciding they have no value. I've worked for years with women in the prison system, on the board of directors for the Program (for Female Offenders), with kids in the juvenile justice system, and children from the worst areas of the city with parents who are crack addicts, and/or living in unfathomable poverty simply by virtue of where they were born. Many have been labeled, misjudged and under valued. I have found them to be filled with unappreciated gifts and talents.
